Emirates News Agency - 8th Dubai International Project Forum focuses on promoting well-being

DUBAI, 25th September, 2022 (WAM) — Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is preparing to organize the 8th Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF) themed “Fostering Wellbeing” for 4 days (January 23-26, 2023). The event is expected to attract a panel of international experts to discuss 14 topics related to project management and wellbeing.

The event is hosted by RTA and co-organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in collaboration with the Project Management Institute (PMI). RTA has opened registrations for Forum activities and events on the website (www.dipmf.ae).

RTA Managing Director and Chairman of the Board, Mattar Al Tayer, said: “The forum confirms the leading role played by Dubai in the region’s growth. It underscores the pioneering role and capacity of the emirate to lead the development process in the region and identify the right ingredients to accelerate growth on solid and well-established foundations.

“Previous editions of the forum have attracted approximately 10,000 participants from 45 countries. 378 stakeholders and thought leaders in the field of project management gathered in Dubai to discuss and exchange ideas on the management and operation of projects to the highest international standards and practices in the industry.Previous editions have cemented Dubai’s image as a global platform for defining best practices and innovative solutions in project management, and have reinforced the role Dubai’s pioneer in the management of infrastructure projects around the world,” commented Al Tayer.

“The choice of the theme of promoting well-being for the 8th cycle of the DIPMF is in line with the strategy of the United Arab Emirates to improve the well-being of all segments of the community. It also reflects the desire of the forum to integrate wellness concepts and practices into the work environment and raise awareness of its importance, which will help improve productivity and performance levels,” said Al Tayer.

“The forum will address 15 topics that cover: Urban planning and well-being, future trends in project management, giga-projects in the region, portfolio and program management, agile transformation, management of Value, Building Information Modeling, Disciplined Agile Framework for Project Management, Power and Leadership Skills, Creativity and Innovation, Digital Project Management, Sustainability in Project Management and strategic business transformation using project management, as well as Into the Metaverse (the new virtual reality),” added Mr. Al Tayer.

Executive Director, Office of the Managing Director, Chair of the Board, Chair of the DIPMF Organizing Committee, Moaza Al Marri, highlighted the vital role of the DIPMF for Dubai and its pioneering status in management and operation of projects. “Dubai has become a model in the adoption of international project management and operation standards, which have become the backbone of development and a key driver of modern management science,” she noted. .

“During the last editions, the forum has been very successful, including 31 discussion panels, 126 parallel sessions, 16 closed sessions, 31 keynote speeches, 10 workshops, 19 studies, 17 technical visits and 33 master classes. It discussed a wide range of topics attended by ministers, senior executives from international entities and mega-corporations as well as project management experts,” Al Marri added.
